Exercise your rights
at deliberative sessions
Becoming involved in community government is an important part of citizenship. It’s not a duty to be taken lightly, and is, in fact, something to be highly prized in a world where many don’t have this right. So it’s really in your best interest and that of your community to take part in Town Meeting. We’re right in the middle of a week of deliberative sessions for both town and school districts, with the Salem and Windham meetings coming up. A list of times and places appears in this week's paper on Page A-2. Remember, you are in charge of governing boards in your town. The members work for you. The decisions about tax rates, building projects and many other decisions affecting the quality of life are in your hands. Become familiar with the warrants to be discussed at these meetings. Most of them are online now. Then attend and let your voice be heard. - Editorials published by Neighborhood News Inc. are written by an editorial board.
We welcome opinions on topics of local interest!
