French will leave some large shoes to fill
As Goffstown Parks and Recreation director Dave French prepares to leave a job he has poured his heart and soul into for the last 32 years, the town must find a replacement for these hard-to-fill shoes. For French, running the Recreation Department wasn’t just a job, it was his life. He raised his family in town, and now, his own kid is coaching programs. He even remembers the days of getting to the school early on weekends to turn on the heat before basketball games so nobody froze in the early-morning hours. He also began the Parks and Recreation column that appears in The Goffstown News each week, hoping to get the word out to residents about activities that were going on in town. French certainly exemplifies what it means to be a town employee, and he will be missed.
